"Learn Islam from the sources" is a promise, not a slogan. This page explains, in one place, how content gets into the app, how prayer times are calculated, what happens with your data, where ads can and cannot appear, and how mistakes get fixed.

Our sourcing method

  • Only verifiable collections. Quiz content draws exclusively on Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and narrations from the Sunan collections (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah) graded sahih or hasan.
  • Strictest-consensus rule. Where recognised graders differ on a Sunan narration, we apply the stricter verdict: it enters the question bank only if it still clears sahih/hasan under the more cautious grading. Doubt excludes.
  • One question, one verified source. Every question is bound to exactly one source, stored with its collection, narration (or ayah) number and grading — and shown to you on every answer.
  • Deep links to canonical copies. Each source card links out to a canonical online copy of the narration, so you can read it in its full context, not just our excerpt.
  • Print references. Where available, we include volume/page references to widely-used print editions, so you can check a source offline and on paper.

Prayer-time methodology

  • Method selected by region. The app auto-selects an appropriate calculation method for where you are — for example the Moonsighting Committee method in the UK, and other established conventions (such as MWL, ISNA, Umm al-Qura and University of Karachi) in their regions.
  • You stay in control. The calculation method, high-latitude rule, Asr convention and per-prayer minute adjustments are all user-adjustable in settings.
  • Verify with your masjid. Calculated times are astronomical estimates; a few minutes' difference between methods is normal. Your local masjid's timetable — especially for jama'ah — should take precedence.
  • All offline, all on-device. Times and the true-north qibla bearing are computed entirely on your phone. Nothing about where you are is sent anywhere.

Privacy pledge

  • No location collection. Prayer times and qibla use your device's location on the device only; it is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Under Google Play's Data safety definitions, the app collects no location data.
  • Analytics limited to app usage. We record feature-usage events, crash reports and coarse device/locale information — enough to improve the app and measure installs without ad fraud, and nothing more.
  • Full policy. Read the complete Privacy Policy, or see how to delete your account and data.

Ads policy

  • Never during worship or reading. Advertising never appears on screens showing Qur'an, hadith, prayer times, adhkar or reading plans. This zone is permanent.
  • Light, and only around quiz results. Free-tier ads appear only around quiz result screens — never inside a question, never interrupting.
  • Pro removes all ads everywhere in the app.

Corrections process

  • Report an issue on every source. Every source card in the app carries a report button — for a wrong reference, a translation concern, a grading query, anything.
  • Human triage queue. Reports go to a review queue read by people, not a black hole. Confirmed errors are corrected in a content update; the question is withdrawn in the meantime if the doubt is material.

Sanad Check is deterministic corpus matching. It searches the indexed collections and either retrieves and cites what is actually there — collection, number, grading — or tells you plainly that it found nothing. It never generates text of its own, never offers a "probable" hadith, and never issues rulings. A "not found" result is reported honestly as the limit of what we index, not as a verdict of fabrication. For rulings and detailed guidance, consult qualified scholars.
