Frequently asked questions

Is Learning Heaven free?

Yes. Learning Heaven is free to use. Pro is an optional subscription that removes ads in the Android app and adds unlimited hearts, offline packs, advanced stats and image checks in Sanad Check.

Do I have to install anything?

No. Open the browser version and start straight away. Install the Android app from Google Play if you want prayer notifications with the adhan, the home-screen widget and offline recitation.

What can’t the browser version do?

Prayer and azkar notifications with the adhan sound, the home-screen widget, recitation downloads for offline listening, the live qibla compass needle (the bearing in degrees still works), buying Pro, and “Verify with Learning Heaven” from the share menu. Everything else works in the browser, with no ads.

I bought Pro on my phone. Does it work in the browser?

Yes. Pro bought in the Android app is recognised in the browser when you sign in with the same account.

Will my progress move between my phone and the browser?

Yes. Sign in to the same account on your phone and in your browser, and your progress and bookmarks follow you.

Where does the content come from?

From published collections of hadith and the Qur’an, with their published gradings. Every question is bound to one source that you can open. The Trust Centre sets out the sourcing method in full.

Does Sanad Check tell me whether a hadith is fabricated?

No. It tells you whether a text matches something in the indexed corpus, and shows the matching narration’s grading with its attribution. If nothing is found, that only means the text is not in the collections the app indexes; it does not mean the text is fabricated. For a ruling on authenticity, please consult a qualified scholar.

Are there ads?

The browser version has no ads. The free Android app shows ads, but never on screens showing the Qur’an, hadith, prayer times, adhkar or reading plans, and Pro removes them.

Is my location sent anywhere?

No. If you let the app use your location for prayer times or the qibla, it is used on your device and never uploaded. You can pick a city from a list instead. The privacy policy has the details.

Which languages and devices are supported?

English, Urdu and Arabic, with full right-to-left layouts. The Android app needs Android 7.0 or above; the browser version works in any modern browser.

I found a mistake. How do I report it?

Tap “Report an issue” on the source card. Reports go to a review queue read by people, and confirmed errors are corrected in a content update. You can also email admin@zaytunauk.co.uk.

How do I delete my account and data?

Follow the steps on the delete your data page, or email admin@zaytunauk.co.uk.

Does Learning Heaven give fatwas?

No. The app reports texts and the gradings of named scholars; it does not issue religious rulings. For rulings and detailed guidance, consult qualified scholars.
